North Branch Saranac River

2015 Clinton County Spring Stocking Schedule

The North Branch Saranac River drains Rainbow Lake, Lake Kushaqua, Loon Lake and the surrounding watershed around Gabriels and Onchiota in northern New York, flowing west to east before it meets the main branch of the Saranac in the town of Clayburg. Stocked anually by the DEC, the river also maintains a native brook trout population. There is a speical year-round section between Cold Brook and Alder Brook, where the river roughly parallels Route 3.
